The Stravinskji Chamber Orchestra was founded in the spring of 1994 thanks to the initiative of a group of musicians who were bound togheter by artistic affinities and wanted to develop their professional understanding.

It was Marco Tezza, the present repertory and artistic director, who carried the project through and put togheter the members of the orchestra, after careful selection from among the most qualified musicians in the Triveneto.

The Stravinskji Chamber Orchestra is proud to have among its ranks musicians who have refined their chamber music training in important groups such as the Solisti Veneti, Padova and Veneto Chamber Orchestra, the Philarmonic Orchestra of the Scala, the Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchestra, the Mozart’s Orchestra, the Bayerischer Rundfund Orchestra Academy.

The musical repertoire of the Stravinskji Chamber Orchestra ranges from Baroque to contemporary music, from duets to symphonic, thanks to the notable flexibility of its components.

The Orchestra has performed in important Festivals in Europe. It went on a tournee in Lebanon and Brazil, where it met with  wide public and critical success: in Belo Horizonte (Brazil) it was defined one of the best chamber orchestras in Europe.

A CD intitled “The 8 season”(Vivaldi/Piazzolla) has been recorded with the Velut Luna label and another CD “Cinema in Concerto”, containing soundtracks of successful films, is recorded with the same record company.

The Orchestra has organized for several years its own International Festival in Favaro Veneto (VE).

For this chamber orchestra, playing in the name of Stravinskji is not only a commitment, but also a homage to the great Russian Master buried in Venice.
